Duck vs. Cougar: Requiem for an Athletic Program

How we miss the days of Phi Slamma Jamma with Hakeem & Clyde and the Run & Shoot offense featuring Andre Ware and David Klingler. During the SWC days, Houston was always exciting - both in pigskin and hoops. Now, however, we have a program in true decline. When was the last time you heard anything about U of H? I can't recall. As a symbol of such a descent into obscurity, we recently were alerted to a hilarious video of the Oregon Duck getting medieval on Shasta, the UH Cougar. Its not pretty. Hat Tip to TB of Bring on the Cats and Orson of EDSBS. Also, the Duck is suspended. Could anything better symbolize Houston's miserable state of affairs in D1 Athletics? I think not.

It ain't easy being C-USA

  • Whomever plays that mascot is obviously not a real Houstonian. A real Houstonian would have pulled his gun out and capped that duck.

  • Hah! H-Town loves its gun violence.

  • Sir Andrews, I demand more mascot on mascot action immediately! When they get cuddly in those suits it's creepy, but when they beat the hell out of each other it's pure entertainment. Thanks for the laugh.

  • Puddles (yes, that's its name) shows more fight than the B during the TCU loss.
