Around the Quad: The Battle of the Brazos

The ALICO can be a very lonely place. The interns are all out today - something about testifying before a grand jury - and things are quiet and sun-drenched here on the 13th Floor. After downing a Fifth of Rebel Yell I swear I saw Kim Mulkey and Grant Teaff mud wrestling on the banks of the Brazos, or maybe it was just a hallucinogenic reaction to all that Ecstasy I took at lunch. Either way, here is some news from Around the Quad:

1. GuyMo Signed Poster on E-Bay for $6! [The E-Bay Link] Six dollars? Really? Wow. The fact that his signature is worth six bucks is a source of great ambivalence in my life. What does it mean? Is it a good sign that someone is willing to pay at all, or is it a pathetic sum for the coach of a pathetic program? Questions like these keep us up all night at the ALICO.

GuyMo: American Badass.

2. New Chum Music Video: Get Well Big 12. Oh. My. Sweet. Lord. This video is so beautiful and it sums up the general Big12 malaise of the 2007 season. Chum does it again. If you are not familiar with his work, Chum is a Kansas State message board (KSUFans.com) video artist who made the BearMeat Masterpiece, Roxy Meat. Enjoy!

Damn, Chum drops Big12 Satire

3. Battle of the Brazos To Be Televised on Versus. The upcoming Baylor game against Texas Ass & Mule (a rivalry dating to 1899), aka the Battle of the Brazos, will be televised on national cable TV. If you aren't headed to the Beastiality Capital of Texas (College Station), then be sure to tune in.

4. Baylor Ranks Last in Big12 in Sexual Health Survey. Trojan condoms commissioned a study on sexual health on college campuses and Baylor fell way below our Big12 rivals. Even SMU and TCU scored much higher. Why? They aren't required to attend the annual "Condom Bonfire" every St. Patrick's Day at Minglewood Bowl. Lariat Link.

5. Baylor Proud (BU PR Blog) Embraces Hogwarts Comparison and uses pirated BearMeat News 6 Video in their post! The hot new Baylor blog, Baylor Proud, has invited the comparison to Hogwarts by using the News 6 video of the new Brooks "College" that BearMeat uploaded. Worlds sure are colliding. Here is our sermon denouncing the new Brooks "College" Experiment as Hogwarts-on-the Brazos. I guess now they are mining BearMeat posts for ideas. Here is the Baylor Proud link.

  • "...I swear I saw Kim Mulkey and Grant Teaff mud wrestling on the banks of the Brazos..."

Red, I think you may have had a vision of Mulk at the Lady Bears Welcome Back Tip Off Supper. Coach Kim was spiffy in a dark brown satin shirt (the one she wore to whip LSU?) and blue jeans.

  • she has something about her that makes my pants crazy. Not sure, but it may be:
    trashy hot?
    redneck cute?
    looks like my cousin?
    fiery temprament?

Not a beauty, but something there...

  • Anyone else notice that the B hasn't even sniffed the world-wide leader's Bottom ten rankings this year? I thought it was worth mentioning.

  • Scamp,

That gallery was beautiful. Thank you.

    PoopSammich,

She has what the French call "I don't know what" or something like that. . .

    BDP,

Great point. We're hardly a bottom-feeder . . . we just play them. (Hat tip to Ian McCaw for scheduling Rice and Buffalo during this, our 15th straight rebuilding season).

  • I object to Bruiser reading the Playboy. Everyone knows Baptists love their smut way dirtier than that.
