A Shoutout from SI's College Football Mailbag

Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated has provided another reason to embrace the absurdity of football at the B. He named Baylor the most irrelevant football program of any BCS school. That's quite an honor. We beat out such notables at Vanderbilt, Indiana, UConn, and Duke (the same Duke that recently finished 4 spots from the bottom of all 119 Division 1 teams). That being said, doesn't being mentioned in two of the last three mailbags makes us relevant. I'll leave that quandary to our Senior Intern Internal Affairs Writers.

  • Most Irrelevant Football program. That has a nice ring to it.

By extension, we must be the Most Irrelevant Football Blog, which I also think sounds perfectly absurd.

    Sic 'em, Bears!

  • Vandy's last winning season was 1982. That's setting the bar for losing high.

I'm still going with Indiana as the most irrelevent program.
