A Few Juicy Morsels

Not too much to report, except a few choice tidbits as a Baylor appetizer as you attempt to make it through your Friday without maiming your Aggie cubicle mate.

  • Apparently, Sports Illustrated's Stewart Mandel, who recently called Baylor "irrelevant" and "peasants," per the Good Judge's post below, attended Northwestern. He must be some sort of self-hating football doormat alumni.

  • K-State Sports & Beyond's analysis of the Big12 schools goes deep by looking at the composite profile of each school's Facebook group. Here's a sample of the Baylor profile: Top Music: Coldplay; Top Book: The Bible; Top Movie: The Notebook; Top TV: Grey's Anatomy; Top Political View: 26% Conservative. Its notable that a higher percentage of A&M and Tech facebook profiles are self-identified conservatives compared with Baylor. After all, we are the great island of religious moderation in the Big12 South's Red Sea. Unlike Ho Chi Minh City-on-the-Colorado.

  • What's with all the injuries at GuyMo's Summer Camp? Is he running that thing like the boot camp in Full Metal Jacket? Come on GuyMo, we can use every player we've got, considering there will be enough injuries and fatalities on gameday this year.

  • Disco Tech!'s take on the UT Football Summer of Crime made us spit up our bourbon and slap an intern; we laughed so hard.

  • I thought it was forbidden to mention the name "Full Metal Jacket" in Texas.

Thanks for the link. Maybe it was the vodka that made facebook stats seem so interesting, but when I saw the differences between A&M and UT, I couldn't help but think there was something there...
