Northbound, The Coldest Bear

Dear Readers,

While we have linked our blog to Curtis Edmonds's Northbound for quite some time, we have never formally introduced our readership to his intelligent blog of film, literary and political commentary. Mr. Edmonds resides in New Jersey, an alumni of The B (B.A. '90) writes for the National Review Online, is a practicing attorney, has completed his first novel, and was a former aide to local-boy George Dubya Bush (he of the library snub). He's actually an all-around rather fascinating guy, with his conservative background balanced out by his concern for the disabled and their access to educational opportunities. He's recently informed us that he is, "planning on making the drive from Central Jersey to see if the Bears can buffalo the Buffalo University Buffalos in Buffalo." Good luck, Curtis, as you may be the only Baylorite in attendance.

We imagine Curtis looks something like this (since his blog has no photos of the author):

  • The picture is an excellent likeness, but you left out the long gold-handled cane that I use to drub the vicious Yankee scum. And my hand should be pointing to a line of ragged orphan children waiting to go to the poorhouse, or holding a Dr Pepper, whatever. But otherwise, excellent work, and I am flattered.

  • Curtis,

We left out the pince nez and your hobo-beating stick out of respect for your image as a "compassionate conservative". Also, as a Southern lawyer, you have a reputation to uphold as the picture of the genteel, courtly advocate. We don't want to diminish that either.

    Sic 'em,

    Red
