George Shelton Backs The Bears

If you could invent a man who embodies the BearMeat dogged devotion to our school, George Shelton, father of senior wide receiver Trent Shelton, would be that man. Bear Pride is infectious and Mr. Shelton is definitely a carrier. Mr. Shelton here demonstrates that The Pride is Back.

  • He's the greatest. I was with a buddy in New York City and was riding the ferry to the Statue of Liberty with George Shelton and his wife.

He was soft-spoken and friendly. And then we sat a couple of rows from him at the BU vs. Army game and the guy starts acting like a lunatic. We were like, "Awesome." I wish all fans had his passion.

Love your blog. Hoping to see something special with BU sports this year.

  • Mr. Hodge:

We hope to get seats next to Mr. Shelton & Co. next home game. Only his enthusiasm could help me through the tense moments. I imagine him to be larger than life, like Pat Neff or Pat Green, maybe even Pat O'Brien. Sorry, I'm on a Pat kick right now . . .. Anyway, thanks for stopping in. We're glad you enjoy the blog and hope to hear more from you.

  • Shelton's dedication to the B's football program is similar to mine, except I have been there since the 1890s. I believe Army, Navy, and Air Force will be no match for Air Bear this season.
